Our Values

About Us

Altura Prep has been thoughtfully built using the best practices of high-performing charter schools across the United States. These charter schools have nationally recognized track records of academic success and have proven, time and time again, that ALL students, regardless of their family’s income level or socio-economic background, can be competitive and successful in competitive high schools, colleges, and universities.

Responsibility:

  • We take ownership over our actions and our goals.
  • We do what we are supposed to do as students and team members.
  • We do what we say we will do.

Empathy:

  • We are aware of how we are feeling and how others may be feeling.
  • We try to understand and care about how someone else is feeling and we put ourselves in their situation in order to understand.

Agency:

  • We take responsibility for making sure that our school and students are reaching the highest possible standards across the board.
  • We are empowered to make choices and advocate for our needs as a team and as individuals.
  • We know that our actions now can affect our outcomes in the future.

Curiosity:

  • We ask “Why?” and seek to understand.
  • We consistently learn new things to broaden what we know of the world.

Hard work/Humor:

  • We ask for help when we need it, so we can keep improving.
  • We know we can get better by continuing to work hard.
  • We find the fun in teaching and learning.
  • In whatever we do, we find the bright side.
  • We sing, laugh, and have fun.
